MENORAH MEDLEY
Hanukkah is 8 nights so each year it’s a lot of opportunity for festivity and family time. My family would typically host a gathering with community and then go to other events to celebrate on other nights throughout the week. ‘Hanukkah Delight’ surface pattern design collection celebrates the celebration of Hanukkah.
One of my fondest memories from these celebrations is that everyone would bring a menorah. We would gather together with the lights dimmed and light the candles. Often times there were so many people there were dozens of menorahs all sitting together. They were almost always sitting under tin foil to protect the table underneath which in retrospect was pretty cool because the tin foil would reflect the light from the candles. Singing together with the dazzling, flickering candle light was always a special moment.
There were several years when my household and our neighbor’s household had a joint party together. Everyone had such a fun time at these events and it was always incredibly chaotic. Both houses were open filled with friends and family laughing and conversing, food, cookies, games, and drinks were everywhere, and kids were constantly running around back and forth between houses with way too much sugar in their systems. We would decorate cookies, enjoy candle lighting, play dreidel, and eat and eat and eat…all with hanukkah music in the background to add more festivity and enjoyment to the night.
This Menorah Medley Stripe design is reminiscent of these chaotic parties filled with light, love, lots of delicious hanukkah treats, and most importantly, the beautiful display of dazzling candles we all would light together.
