Mikaela Bernhardt is a Bay Area mural artist and placemaker with a background in landscape architecture - and no, she never did a garden. Her project experience ranged from BART stations and schools to mixed-use retail and large-scale residential developments.

It all started with her mom. Growing up as an only child, whenever Mikaela complained she was bored, the answer was always the same: "I'm glad you're bored, go be creative." At the time, TV was far more appealing. Now she's eternally grateful for it.

With mural painting experience across corporate offices, restaurant entries, retail storefronts, and residential interiors, Mikaela approaches every project at the intersection of creative and technical; before a single brushstroke is made, she's analyzing scale, light, visual identity, sight lines, and circulation to name a few.

She specializes in custom hand-painted murals and signage for commercial and residential spaces, designed to strengthen brand identity, drive foot traffic, and create the kind of spaces people photograph, remember, and return to.

She is available for custom murals, sign painting and lettering, art licensing, and creative brand collaborations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
